About kitchens and our business

Grain Woodcrafting is a locally owned and operated woodworking business located behind the Market Square on Argyle Road. As a Red Seal shop with over 30 years of experience, Grain uses expert craftsmanship and state of the art equipment to build your custom piece.  We build custom kitchens, vanities, mantles, bars, staircases, tables and built-ins for your home. Built-ins can include everything from libraries and entertainment units to locker cubbies for the kids.

In choosing the lumber for any project, we choose the highest quality product. Our wood is delivered in rough form and then we hand select the material for each job. The material is FAS or better, which means no knots or imperfections. This is the best on the market, but we further search the lumber for quality pieces, which is especially important when making doors. Our process guarantees that all of the wood selected for a kitchen will be from the same lift of wood, which often means that the wood is from the same forest. This ensures the best, most consistent finish on the market.

Grain Woodcrafting has a full spray booth for all of our custom finishes. There are numerous finishes to choose from, some of which may include: lacquer, polyurethanes, boiled linseed oil and other natural finishes such as Tung Oil.

The installation of a project deserves as much consideration as the design and build. It could make or break your dream. A poor installation can ruin even the most beautiful cabinets. We at Grain, use the same highly skilled staff who build your project, to deliver and install it. This ensures consistency in high quality workmanship and a product the staff is proud of.

At Grain, we encourage you to be involved in every step of your project from design to installation as it is your vision that we build to precision. Our 5000 sq. foot facility enables us to build your dream locally without shipping your project in from another region. Building every piece at the shop gives you the opportunity to be actively involved as your product is being manufactured. We encourage you to be a part of this process for a seamless experience and a product beyond your expectations.

At Grain Woodcrafting we are proud to foster relationships with our clients who in turn facilitate our growth in the community.
